Discrimination in BF Homes
I've heard from the grapevine that there are two foreign establishments in my neighborhood that doesn't welcome filipinos. I heard from my friend that one was a japanese place and another a korean place.
And that there was an ACTUAL SIGN that says NO FILIPINOS. I mean, that's just not right. If there's any kind of discrimination, shouldn't the dominating population be the one doing the discriminating? Heh. But seriously, WHY? I mean, they left their country to live here, live among filipinos, and surely have to eventually be friends with a few of us. So why the hate? BF Homes is a multicultural community that's composed of mostly filipinos, chinese, koreans, japanese and a spot of europeans and americans here and there.
Most possibly one of the reasons why they left would be that they couldn't cut it in their own country and find a new life here. Sure, there are a lot of people that would love to take advantage of a person from another country because of their lack of familiarity and all that. But that's applicable everywhere. I so love the japanese and hearing that a japanese person would discriminate against my own is just sad. I would have expected as much from Koreans, specially the ones from the north, but Japanese? The older generation of japanese maybe, but not the liberal thinking japanese of today.
